In the children’s section, there are about 34 000 books in Hungarian, Romanian and other languages placed on shelves. One can choose between diverse children’s literature, young adult fiction, popular non-fiction and educational books.All the books can be borrowed, but they can also be consulted in the reading room of the section.

Library presentations organized as workshops with lectures for groups of children, with an appointment

Organisation of cultural and playful activities, on the occasion of certain celebrations or specific anniversaries

Mobile library: elementary and nursery schools located far from the headquarters of the library are able to request a bi-weekly service, where we provide free loans of diverse children’s literature and lecture for children.
Lecture on the Go: In this programme held in the library and in partnership with the town hall of Sf. Gheorghe, launched in April 2010, newborns of Sf. Gheorghe born after 20 April 2010 and their parents receive a little pack of books. This gift consists of several children’s literature volumes, a guideline for reading and the newborn’s first library card. The gift can be received in the library during opening hours, by presenting the parent’s identity card together with the newborn’s birth certificate.

Magic Lamp: a series of bookish activities for the (summer) holidays.
