Lecture on the Go
In this programme held in the library and in partnership with the town hall of Sf. Gheorghe, launched in April 2010, newborns of Sf. Gheorghe (until becoming 3 of age) and their parents receive a little pack of books. This gift consists of several children’s literature volumes, a guideline for reading and the newborn’s and one of the parents’ first library card. The gift can be received in the Children’s section of the library during opening hours, by presenting the parent’s identity card together with the newborn’s birth certificate.
Since 2019 Bod Péter Association for Library Support also participates in the organisation and the implementation of the programme.
The object of the programmeis drawing its beneficiaries’ attention to the fact that frequent visits to the library, as well as the flipping trough or reading beautiful books (while the child invisibly develops into a reader, a friend of books) are amusing activities for the entire family.
The gift can be solicitated until becoming 3 of age.
Up to December 2023, 1764 newborns and their families in Sf. Gheorghe benefited from the programme either with Hungarian, Romanian or bilingual gift packs. In 2022, 630 second graders received 510 Hungarian, and respectively, 120 Romanian books. Until the end of 2023, 5742 pupils recieved books within the programme.
