Research and Reading Space

The fund of the Reading room consists of approximately 76 000 books, respectively 16 000 periodicals, especially from Romania and Hungary, kept in a warehouse. The more significant collections are the following: current reference pieces of work (encyclopedias, dictionaries, lexicons), art albums, publications in Hungarian edited in Romania, respectively documents in a single copy, as well as the collection of the Official Monitor of Romania (in electronic format, too).

In this section, users can find the national and local current newspapers, a selection of diverse magazines, and a collection of local and regional history. Users can scan and copy the books and periodicals of the section, for a fixed fee.

Rules of the Reading Room

  • newspapers and magazines can only be read on the spot
  • a maximum of three documents can be required for local use
  • under exceptional circumstances, the user is able to borrow the books held in the warehouse for a short period of time, except for encyclopedias, dictionaries, albums and rare books.

We humbly ask the users of the library to...

  • keep quiet and respect the cleanness of the Reading room
  • do not use mobile phones
  • leave the books taken down from the free shelves on the table, after they are no longer necessary
  • do not take more than three newspapers at once

Thank you!
